This 7-day Northern Tanzania Safari features a carefully crafted itinerary for travelers eager to explore the country’s most iconic national parks: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Your journey begins with a warm welcome in Arusha. It takes you through the elephant-rich Tarangire and the bird-filled Lake Manyara, leading to the vast plains of the Serengeti—known for the Great Wildebeest Migration and abundant predators.
You will also visit the ancient wonders of Olduvai Gorge and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife sanctuary and home to the Maasai people. This safari provides a complete Northern Tanzania experience, featuring breathtaking landscapes, exciting game drives, cultural encounters, and comfortable accommodations—all guided by expert multilingual guides and supported by well-equipped 4×4 Land Cruisers.
Pick up from the airport (KIA) and transfer to Arusha for rest and an overnight stay at a hotel or lodge.
After breakfast at the hotel or lodge, you will be picked up in the morning with your lunch boxes. The journey to Tarangire National Park will take approximately two hours. Tarangire is a small yet beautiful national park, renowned for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.
The park is home to various bird species and offers excellent viewpoints where you can admire its beauty and capture stunning photographs. After enjoying a game drive in the park, you will have dinner and spend the night at a lovely lodge.
Today, we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. After picking you up at the lodge in the morning, it will take approximately one hour to reach Manyara from Tarangire. Lake Manyara is a beautiful park well-known for its diverse bird species, hot springs, and tree-climbing lions.
It is also home to many other animal species, and the striking cliffs of the Rift Escarpment provide a dramatic backdrop. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations at a lodge or tented camp.
Pick up will be at the Lodge/Tented Camp after breakfast as we start our ascent to Serengeti National Park. During the en route game drive from Lake Manyara to Serengeti, we will have the opportunity to visit Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the first human skull in the 1950s.
There is also a small museum at the site that contains evidence of our ancestors, dating back 2.5 million years. After our visit, we will stop for lunch before continuing our drive into Serengeti itself. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at the Lodge/Camp site.
Today, we will embark on a full-day drive into Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is the second-largest national park in Tanzania and is famous for the migration of wildebeest and zebras. Approximately 1.5 million wildebeest migrate in search of pastures and food, while around 25000 zebras also migrate for the same reasons. The Serengeti is often referred to as the land of lions.
Our guide will take you to beautiful locations within the park, including the hippo pool, where you can observe these majestic animals living peacefully alongside crocodiles. Additionally, you will have the chance to see a pride of lions amid the migration, ready for a hunt. Be prepared to encounter a variety of animals in this stunning landscape.
Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at a lodge or campsite.
Early in the morning, we will pick you up after breakfast and set off for a game drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This unique area is home to both people and wildlife, with the Maasai tribe known for their rich culture living harmoniously alongside the animals.
Ngorongoro offers stunning viewpoints that are perfect for photography. After enjoying the views, we will descend into the crater. The walls of the crater create a natural sanctuary for a variety of animals, allowing us to witness diverse wildlife in their ecosystem. The climate in Ngorongoro is pleasant, making it an enjoyable experience for our game drive.
In the afternoon, we will travel just outside the conservation area to our lodge or campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 is a day for relaxation and enjoyment, or exploring the town, especially the Maasai market, where you can find beautiful handcrafted ornaments and cultural clothing after an exciting northern safari.
