VOLUNTEERING

Olouwaru Safaris Volunteering and Traveling Programs

Volunteering abroad doesn’t require wealth—just compassion, curiosity, and the will to make a difference. Our programs are affordable and flexible, allowing you to volunteer for as little as a week or stay for several months. Each placement prioritizes safety, sustainability, and community impact, ensuring your efforts create lasting value long after your visit.

Why Choose Tanzania for Your Volunteer Journey

Tanzania offers a life-changing experience that blends purpose with adventure. Here, you can support local communities through educational, medical, or environmental projects while exploring one of the most culturally diverse and naturally stunning countries in the world. Beyond volunteering, you’ll discover new perspectives, form meaningful connections, and grow both personally and professionally.

Humanitarian Activities

Oluwaru Safaris is also committed to giving back to the community through various volunteer initiatives, including:

  • Education Volunteerism

  • Health Development Support

  • Orphanage Volunteer Programs

Education Volunteering

Volunteers have the opportunity to teach and gain an authentic understanding of local schools alongside Tanzanian teachers. You’ll help learners build practical skills—especially English—opening doors to stronger education and future opportunities.

Depending on your interest, you can teach at kindergarten, primary, secondary, or adult education levels. Subjects may include English language, music, computer science, or life skills, depending on your expertise.

You can also choose to donate to schools through books, uniforms, or even support construction and renovation projects based on your preference and availability. School days run from Monday to Friday, but the schedule can be adjusted if you wish to participate in additional activities with us.

Health Development

Volunteers are welcomed to support local clinics and hospitals alongside Tanzanian doctors and nurses, contributing to patient care, health education, and community outreach under professional supervision. Depending on your training and the facility’s policies, you may assist with basic triage, patient intake, record-keeping, health talks, and non-invasive therapies—while qualified medical professionals may take on additional clinical tasks as approved by the host team. You’re also encouraged to share preventative health advice and promote healthy practices in ways that are culturally respectful and evidence-based.

You may contribute materially by coordinating donations of approved medicines, essential equipment, uniforms, or financial support for hospital improvements in consultation with the facility. Health services operate daily, and your schedule can be adjusted to accommodate other community activities or personal commitments, ensuring a meaningful and manageable volunteering experience.

Women & Youth Development

Support women and young people in our community through practical life-skills and entrepreneurship training that builds confidence, independence, and sustainable livelihoods. Volunteers with a passion for inclusion and empowerment can contribute to vocational activities such as traditional attire making, basket weaving, and other handicrafts, while also mentoring on goal-setting, basic finance, and small-business skills.

Most participants work in groups, making it easy to plan interactive sessions and achieve meaningful progress together. There’s no fixed timetable—volunteering is arranged around your availability—so with a well-coordinated schedule, you can engage consistently and create lasting impact.
